Suppressing Illegally Obtained Evidence

In the course of a criminal investigation, police can and do make mistakes. Our Portland drug trafficking defense lawyers will comb through every aspect of your case. Whenever possible, we seek to suppress evidence that was obtained by invalid search warrants, questionable activities of undercover detectives and other illegal means. Careful preparation of the battlefield in this way could lead to the dismissal of charges or reduction to a much lesser and acceptable charge such as drug possession.

A Negotiated Plea or Vindication at Trial?

The majority of drug cases in Oregon are resolved through plea deals. While that is always a possible strategy, Gilroy Napoli Short Law Group does not automatically recommend it in every case. Before recommending a negotiated outcome, we will explain the pluses and minuses of a negotiated plea in the context of the overall strength of your case.

If you choose to go to trial, Gilroy Napoli Short Law Group will aggressively defend you at all stages of the legal process. If you choose to seek a negotiated outcome, we will seek to obtain the best possible resolution. This could include a START Court or STOP Court outcome, if you are eligible.
